The Neponset Camera Club was founded in January 2005 as a small online discussion group of individuals with a common interest in photography. Gradually by recommendation and word of mouth the group has enlarged to some 30 members.  As the group has enlarged the logical next step was to become a chartered photography club. Our members are mostly local and we also have correspondent or cyber-members who live outside our area. These members are also welcomed as they will provide us with contacts in other areas of the country as we travel with cameras at the ready. They have also contributed excellent work and commentary. They are a vital part of our membership. Our group is both talented, diverse and above all supportive of fellow members and their efforts whether professional, advanced amateur or totally new to this art form. We are a community that will only accept this spirit of cooperation. Members of all ages are welcome. Meetings are held monthly from September through June on the second Thursday of the month. Tryon Creek Photo Club (effective January 1, 2010)
The Tryon Creek Photo Club meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month. Meetings begin at 7:00 P.M. The meetings are at:
Nature Center of Tryon Creek State Park
11321 SW Terwilliger Boulevard,
Portland, Oregon 97219.
Our meetings are informal, with the main feature of sharing one’s images with other members. Prints are displayed, slides can be shown, and the club has a laptop computer and an electronic projector. Members are encouraged to bring their images for discussion. The digital images can be acquired through a USB thumb drive or a CD/DVD. In our non-competitive club, we generally seek positive remarks to encourage our fellow members, though some criticism is done in a friendly and constructive manner, helping each of us become better at photography. The club describes itself as non-competitive since we do not sponsor any “within-the-club” competitions. As a member club of the Columbia Council of Camera Clubs, individual members sometimes enter into their competitions, or we may have a multi-person club entry into a “4-C’s” competition. Our meetings sometimes includes a program, either with a guest speaker or a presentation by by a member. Occasionally we have a hands-on workshop as part of the program. A meeting may also include the formal business of the club, which is usually brief. Guests are always welcome.

The December meeting usually starts at 6:00 P.M., and is typically a “potluck” dinner with the club providing a ham as the main dish.

Southern Appalachian Nature Photographers
P.O. Box 32324
Knoxville, TN 37930-2324
Southern Appalachian Nature Photographers (SANP) is a non-profit educational organization dedicated  to photography of the natural environment. Our motto is: "Sharing the Awareness of Nature thru Photography". We were founded in 1991 and our home base is the Knoxville, TN, area which abounds in superb nature photo opportunities. We are near the Appalachian Mountains, the Smokies and the lakes, streams and pastoral valleys of East Tennessee.
We have nine meetings a year. These are held the LAST Tuesday of the month. We do not meet in December, or June-July. Our meetings feature highly skilled nature photographers from our region as well as nationally known artists from across the country. In addition, we have numerous field trips and seminars which are free to our more than 150 members. Our annual Salon is in February during which we display our contest entrants' work and award hundreds of dollars in merchandise to our winners.
Please visit the SANP web site for more information on activities, membership, fees, meeting location, newsletter and how to contact SANP
